Healthcare Heroes Original Painting

I was asked by an SSM Healthcare employee about creating a painting as a donation for the nursing department as a thank you during the COVID-19 pandemic. The nursing department had been working tirelessly for months assisting patients during a PPE shortage, personnel shortage, and emergency protocol changes. I was asked to draw hands clasping a patient's hands, and was given a reference photo. I thought a painting would look more spectacular than a drawing, so I dove in and started mixing skin tones. I had 4 days to complete the work, and thankfully I did! The painting was one of 3 pieces donated during a ceremony in May 2020. The clients were overjoyed with the painting, and I was happy to donate to a worthy cause.
