Are You Smarter Than A Jesuit? Magazine Cover
by Anne Kostecki
A hand lettered magazine cover is a visually interesting and crafted way to grab a reader's attention. I was approached with the task of creating a hand lettered cover for Loyola Magazine's cover story, which was a game show-like quiz about Jesuit history. We had many ideas and went through many iterations to get to the final result. I chose a cool palette for the lettering, to allow the warmth of the light bulb to shine and as an opportunity to brighten the masthead. I chose to had dimensional, lighted lettering for "smarter," and stained glass for "Jesuit."
The magazine cover was printed with florescent inks on opaque cover weight white paper. The magazine is saddle stitched and printed in full color. Coordinating piece includes a web banner.
