Wolves Among Us Illustrated Book
by Anne Kostecki
The goal of my seminar project was to design a book that describes the complex ecological and mythological relationship between wolves and humans. The book chronicles ancient myths and fables about wolves and describes the changing relationship with humans. The book is meant to provoke people into questioning our relationship with nature and to realize our tendency to anthropomorphize animals to fit our own ideas and archetypes.
My audience is older children and adolescents, and adults who are interested in biology, mythology, and conservation. I hope my audience is interested and motivated to conserve our world.
I designed, illustrated, bound, and partially photographed the book. All of the illustrations were sketched in pencil, and the book was perfect bound by hand. The book was printed on Mohawk Superfine Smooth White 80# Text paper.
