Hello universe! I’m so excited to announce that I’ve finally (finally!) updated my website. It’s been about 3 months since I started to seriously consider changing my site, but somehow, it only took me about 4 days to do the entire overhaul. I went from ground zero to choosing a new structure, installing WordPress with a new theme, installing a million plug-ins, troubleshooting for hours, re-editing photographs, and redesigning all of the site structure over the course of a week. Normally it takes me months of procrastinating before I even get one of those things done!
I finally decided that it was necessary; and like ripping off a band-aid, it needed to happen quickly. To prevent myself from lazily searching for new site structure, debating the pros and cons, and testing various methods with cost/benefit analyses (which is my usual habit), I told myself to take my site offline and add a “coming soon,” page to spur myself into action. I’ve read so many “how to get your business off the ground,” articles at this point, I can practically parrot all of their talking points, including: “Just do it.” Which, I believe, is hardest part to getting your business off the ground.
Please bear with me while I get everything up and running! I’m going to be adding some older projects to my portfolio as needed, but I’m also going to add a lot of new things I’ve been working on. I have had my hand in a lot of different projects: design, illustration, calligraphy, photography, and even a little bit of bookbinding. I’m discovering (and rediscovering) the types of projects I like to do: which still include weddings and events, but I’m also expanding to digital and even web design. I would love to work with small businesses and bloggers to help build their brands and bring their visions to life. As a recent MBA graduate, I would also love to consult with small businesses to aid in their marketing efforts (perhaps in photography and writing).
Thank you to everyone who has supported me in my freelance work. I love all of my clients and appreciate the relationships we have formed. I’m open to making new partnerships, so please spread the word! Let’s design something beautiful.
